Carbotech AG was founded in Basel in 1987 and supports its customers on their way to more sustainable management and in solving pollution problems.

The specialists in the field of environmental and sustainability consulting provide decision-making bases in the form of life cycle assessments, material flow analyses and other system analyses. They accompany national and international environmental projects and develop key figures on the environment and sustainability for companies. They also support companies in the development and implementation of an integrated sustainability strategy.

The pollutant experts provide advice and support from the diagnosis to the solution of pollutant problems in buildings, at workplaces, at industrial or chemical sites, in homes and offices or in the outdoor air. The experts carry out sampling, workplace measurements (MAK) and indoor air measurements according to recognized methods, prepare customized pollutant reports, maintain contact with the authorities and also offer remediation planning and specialist construction management.

The employees of Carbotech are also committed to the dissemination of knowledge - in the context of training courses for customers, lectures, audits or in the training of young environmental professionals.

Innovation and development have always been factors of success for Carbotech. The company owes its good position in the market to many customers for whom "the nose length ahead" is also important.

Carbotech has continuously developed - the common thread is always the focus on personal responsibility, flexibility, appreciation of customers and employees and transparent communication. As early as 2016, Carbotech placed a focus on agility as part of its 2020 strategy development. Then, in 2017, when the harbingers of the generation change in management became apparent, Carbotech used this upheaval to think about new organizational forms. Inspired by agile organizational forms, it distributed responsibility among several people and regulated their authority through clearly defined "roles". After very positive experiences during this pilot, the Executive Board and the Board of Directors decided at the beginning of 2019 to introduce "holacracy" as an organizational form for the entire Carbotech. Since September 2019, it has been operating under this new "operating system" - it allows it to respond even more flexibly and agilely to customer needs and reflects the high level of identification of the employees with Carbotech.

Carbotech is independent - because it is owned by its employees. This makes it the right partner for companies in the private sector as well as for public administrations and development or environmental organizations. Today, around 30 specialists from the fields of environmental science, chemistry, physics, architecture, civil engineering, geography and economics work in the offices in Basel and Zurich.
